Indoor Services at Beth Tefilah, Shabbat 9:30 AM

Attendance is no longer limited. '

Shabbat morning services are with appropriate distancing protocols. Chairs and tables are set up at least two meters apart. Please bring your own Talit and Kipah. The communal ones will not be available. Masks are provided upon entry.

Services will begin promptly at 9:30 AM and will proceed with care and enthusiasm but also with expedition. The duration of the service is likely to be less than two hours to avoid prolonging the time of congregation. For this reason, we will not wait for a Minyan; if one is not present when we conclude Shacharit (approximately 10:15 AM), we will proceed directly to Musaf.

The washrooms will be open; however, we are all encouraged to minimize the use of public facilities. This means one person at a time. Wash your hands after use and use the disinfectant spray and paper towels (available in the washroom) to disinfect any surface you have touched.

You may print out the following questions before Shabbat and screen yourself before leaving your home to attend the Minyan.

The Public Health Agency of Canada strongly urges anyone who has any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, or headache to isolate at home or another suitable location.

Do you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever (37.8°C or higher)
  • Any new or worsening respiratory symptoms including cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, hoarse, stuffed nose, sore throat, painful swallowing, or difficulty swallowing?
  • Any new onset of atypical symptoms including but not limited to: chills, muscle/joint aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, unexplained loss of appetite, feeling unwell, fatigued, severe exhaustion, headache, loss of sense of smell/taste, conjunctivitis, altered mental status?
  • Have you, or anyone in your household travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days?
  • Have you had close contact (face-to-face contact within 2 meters/6 feet) with someone who is ill with cough and/or fever in the last 14 days without the use of appropriate PPE?
  • Have you had close contact (face-to-face contact within 2 meters/6 feet) in the last 14 days with someone who is being investigated or confirmed to be a case of COVID-19 without the use of appropriate PPE?

If you answer positively to any of the above, please don’t attend and take this self assessment after Shabbat.

If you are elderly or have underlying medical conditions, and are wary about attending services, please consider remaining at home.
